Since its foundation in 1974 by Dr. Peter Deubner, the Deubner Publishing House has established itself as a recognised provider of tax information. In 1997 the WEKA Group of companies acquired the publishing house and in the process combined all of its tax activities in Cologne.

In early 2002 the Law and Practice Publishing House was integrated into the Deubner Publishing House and its program aligned with the strategic core area of law and tax.
